Seven cheeky facts about me!
It was during the dawn of the COVID era that I pivoted from a bride to a visionary behind the lens, launching my photography journey. Some might call it risky, to embark on a new chapter during uncertain times, but I found a thriving sanctuary within those challenges. Like a flower pushing through cracks in the pavement, I flourished. The constraints of distance and the new norms of the world served as catalysts for learning and growth. From a safe distance, I engaged in shoots, weaving my artistry through the threads of each frame, honing my craft with every click.
My days were painted with hues of mentorship and dedication. I stood alongside mentors and teachers, sipping from the well of their wisdom. I embraced the various hats a budding entrepreneur wears – a learner, an artist, and a business strategist. Each role sculpted me, shaping the foundation of a thriving business. The dance of building a brand unfolded, like a symphony of colors and emotions.
You see, I'm a free spirit at heart, always longing to spread my wings under the open sky. The thought of being contained within walls was as stifling as a caged bird yearning for the wind's embrace. Little did I know that my passion for photography, that love for capturing fleeting moments, would sweep me off my feet and lead me down an enchanting path.
This all happen after my wedding. I tied the knot myself in 2019 at the enchanting Lake House in Fort Pierce. Can we talk about how that place is like stepping into a storybook? Even my guys were floored, and trust me, they're not easily impressed. Fort Pierce has a hidden gem.
I'm Katherine – a wanderer, a dreamer, and a storyteller armed with a camera. If you'd told me in my childhood that I'd grow up to be a photographer, I'd have chuckled heartily. My dreams were set on becoming a nurse, until the four walls of hospitals showed me that life had a more whimsical path in store.
As I stood in the glow of my wedding day, my father-in-love bestowed upon us the words of Dietrich Bonhoeffer: "It is not your love that sustains the marriage, but from now on, the marriage that sustains your love." These words, like a timeless melody, reverberated through the chambers of my heart, shaping the essence of my photographic journey.
And thus, the name "Sustainable Love Photo" was born – a name that encapsulates the essence of everlasting bonds, enduring connections, and the promise that marriage. All because of this one quote my father in love shared at our wedding.
